Renowned former coach of the Blue Bulls offers coaching courses at Beestekraal Events.

Blikkies Groenewald was a high school teacher in Pretoria where he began coaching rugby in 1974. He started offering coaching courses at the Bulls in 1979. Training rugby coaches is his passion and he has worked for the Bulls in a permanent capacity, first as director of rugby development from 1983 and later as director of coaching at the Bulls Academy.

To date, he has coached over 360,000 players and trained more than 29,000 coaches. He was the first technical and skills coach for the Bulls’ Currie Cup team and was the first kicking and skills coach for the Springboks.

He has written 12 books on coaching education, all of which are accepted by South African universities and used as manuals. He is a qualified world rugby coach educator. He has coached four Currie Cup rugby teams, as well as Russia and Poland. He accompanied Russia’s 7s team to the World Cup held in Hong Kong. He is currently the chairman of the Bulls’ Coaches Association, Head of the “Centre of Excellence,” a coach at the Bulls’ Academy, and vice-president on the Executive Committee of the Bulls.
